ILL: Loanshark Service Availability

Update 7/6/2013 5:30 pm- OpenURL “bad characters” fixed

The “Bad characters” issue should be fixed.

There remains possible issues with certain browsers when first logging in due to what might be a cookie problem. If you see an error about a page timeout when first going into ILLiad/Discover, try refreshing the page. (Enabling a privacy mode also seems to help work around this problem).

We will be looking into this issue deeper.

Update 7/6/2013 2:15 pm- Expected downtime 3:30 to 6:30 pm today

We will be working with the CA Siteminder team to attempt to put in a fix to the bug that causes following ” Due to the presence of characters known to be used in Cross Site Scripting attacks, access is forbidden ” to appear when following a link into ILLiad/Loanshark from other website.

Update 7/2/2013 5:22 pm

We’ve resolved the “session expired/you must log in again” issue. If you encounter do encounter this error again, please contact the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Borrowing Office .

There is still one issue remaining with regards to links in to ILLiad/Loanshark from other web sites. You may still receive an error message

Due to the presence of characters known to be used in Cross Site Scripting attacks, access is forbidden. This web site does not allow Urls which might include embedded HTML tags.

We are working to resolve this issue. If you encounter it, a temporary workaround is to first log in directly to ILLiad/loanshark (https://loanshark.library.illinois.edu). Once you’ve done that, you should be able to access incoming links to ILLiad/loanshark from other web sites like WorldCat and SFX/Discover, so long as you do not exit your current browser session. You can also manually enter (or copy and paste) citation information directly into the appropriate forms on ILLiad/loanshark (https://loanshark.library.illinois.edu).

Thank you for your continued patience.

Update 7/2/2013 2:20 pm

In order to investigate and resolve the “session expired/you must log in again” issue, we need to temporarily take Illiad Loanshark offline from 2:30pm until 5pm today. We apologize for the inconvenience.
