Kirstin Dougan has been elected as one of the Music Library Association’s three new Board of Directors.  Her three-year term as Member-at-Large will begin in February 2011 at MLA’s Annual Meeting.

Dougan is the Music and Performing Arts Librarian in the Music and Performing Arts Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She previously served as Interim Head and Public Services Librarian of the Duke University Music Library, and Digital Projects Librarian at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds the M.L.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.M. in Viola Performance from Ball State University, and a B.M. in Viola Performance from Lawrence University.

Dougan’s MLA service includes membership on its Program Committee Task Force (2010), the Publications Awards (2010) and Facilities (2007-present) Committees, and chairing the Newsletter Taskforce Committee (2008-2009). Recently she was elected Chair-Elect of the Midwest Chapter of MLA, adding to her various service roles in MLA’s Southeast and Midwest Chapters.
