Publicly Accessible Computers

The University Library, in keeping with our mission “to ensure unfettered access to information,” provides publicly accessible computers throughout our facilities. All users, whether affiliated with the University of Illinois or not, are welcome to use these designated computers in the following locations.

Architecture and Art (Ricker) Library – one computer in Room 208 of the Architecture Building.

Chemistry Library – one computer in Room 170 of Noyes Laboratory

Connecting to Library Resources from Off-Campus

The Library provides access to thousands of databases of subscription-based articles, ebooks, media, and more. Because of licensing restrictions, off-campus access is limited to University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign staff, faculty, faculty emeriti, visiting scholars (with NetIDs), University High School students, and currently enrolled University students (including summer access for those enrolled in Fall classes).

Library users who are accessing materials from off-campus can do so using a variety of methods, including through the Library website, a proxy bookmarklet or manually added URL, or by downloading the campus VPN.
