The winners of the 2012 Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) elections have been announced and two recipients are from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library. Kathleen Kern was elected as Vice-President/President-Elect of RUSA. In addition, Becky Smith was elected as a member-at-large of RUSA’s Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS).
Kern works within Reference, Research and Scholarly Services (RRSS) and Smith is part of the new Business Information Services (BIS) at Illinois.
The Reference and User Services Association of the American Library Association (ALA) is responsible for stimulating and supporting excellence in the delivery of general library services and materials, and the provision of reference and information services, collection development, readers’ advisory, and resource sharing for all ages, in every type of library.
