Loose-leaf Binding

For in-house binding, the optimal thickness of pamphlets is 1/4 inch.

Two factors determine what we can bind.

  1. The pre-made binders which we use have a spine margin of about 1/4 inch.
Although we can construct larger binders, we are limited by the second factor:
  2. Our longest staple length is 1/2 inch which means that we can only staple through materials that are less than 1/2 inch thick.

Looseleaf binders are one solution for thick materials. Many items, such as reports, and government documents are designed for loose leaf binding and already have holes for that purpose. Our looseleaf binding process is illustrated on the next page.
