The Conservation Unit serves all collections held by the University Library. If an item in your collection is in need of repair, rehousing, or stabilization, choose the appropriate option below.
- To route general collections materials for repair, please complete a green streamer (GEN204), create a work order in Alma, and send the item through Library Shipping to Preservation Services, 425 Library. Moldy or severely damaged items are best handled by placing in a sealed plastic bag and hand-carrying them as soon as possible to 425 Library.
- To request conservation treatment of special collections, submit an online request: http://go.library.illinois.edu/conservationrequest. A conservator will respond to your request.
