Inventory of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Digital Projects

About the Inventory

This inventory is a database of metadata about digital projects. Inventories in which collection creators submit their own entries (subject to editing by the maintainer of the registry) are called registries. The inventory will shortly migrate to a database, and we will then welcome submissions (subject to editing) but also continue to create some of our own records for projects.

It grew out of the May 2, 2003, charge to the Working Group on Digital Projects of the AAASS Bibliography and Documentation Committee. There is a brief summary of how the inventory addresses each of the original oppositions in the charge. We may decide to split the inventory into separate inventories focusing on different types of projects if we find it too difficult to reach consensus on criteria for inclusion.

The inventory provides information on digital projects' methods and is therefore designed primarily for librarians and others creating digital projects. We hope this resource will be useful to researchers and scholars as well; however, the intent is not to build a finding aid organized by subject.
