ABSEEES

ABSEEES Online is the online version of The American Bibliography of Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (ABSEEES). It can be searched by multiple fields, including author, title, publisher, date of publication, and subject heading. There is also full-record keyword searching.

ABSEEES is based at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Library and maintained by editors located there and by other contributing editors at research institutions throughout the U.S. The UIUC Library, with more than 13 million volumes, is the largest public university library in the world and home to the Slavic and East European Library, which houses one of the largest collections of its kind in the country.

Journal articles, books, book chapters, book reviews, dissertations, online resources, and selected government publications on East-Central Europe and the former Soviet Union published in the United States, Canada, and some European countries.

Acknowledgements

The American Bibliography of Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (ABSEEES) has been compiled continuously since 1956 under the auspices of the Association of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) and with the support at various times of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the U.S. State Department’s Title VIII program, the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), and the Center for Russian and East European Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. The bibliography is currently based at the University of Illinois Library at Urbana-Champaign.

Annual printed editions of ABSEEES were produced for the years 1956 through 1994. The bibliography is now exclusively an online product. It is maintained by editors at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and by contributing editors at other colleges and universities.
