Visiting Scholars

Individualized Research & Instructional Resources

Researchers are encouraged to apply for an individualized, bibliographic-focused consultation with the Slavic Reference Service. Funded research trips are only available during our Summer Research Laboratory, however, the SRS provides individualized research support and instruction year-round. SRS staff can assist graduate students during the early stages of dissertation research, those working on literature reviews, or scholars working on new articles or monographs. We will develop a personalized, project-based program for each researcher covering electronic tools and software, print and electronic bibliographic resources, applicable databases, archival sources, vernacular-language search techniques, keyboard options, full-text resources, and online consultations with information specialists located in Eurasia and Eastern Europe.

Researchers who would like to visit the University of Illinois during the academic year can schedule a one-on-one research consultation online. Summer Research Laboratory participants should email srscite@library.illinois.edu to arrange a session.
