Library Instruction Sessions
MPAL Librarians provide library instruction sessions for courses in dance, music, and theatre. These sessions can be single sessions or embedded throughout the course and are tailored to meet the course and students’ needs. Most sessions occur in the regular classroom.
Popular topics include:
- Developing a research topic and strategy
- Identifying and evaluating secondary sources
- Finding and evaluating music materials
- Searching library resources effectively
To request a library instruction session, please contact Kate Lambaria, Music & Performing Arts Librarian, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (217) 300-5898.
Theatre faculty may also request library instruction sessions with Matthew Roberts, English & Drama Librarian, at email@example.com.
Tours are conducted by staff at the Music & Performing Arts Library and are intended to introduce students to the space, services, and collections available at MPAL. These sessions are also tailored to meet the needs of the course or participants.
To request a tour of MPAL, please contact the Music & Performing Arts Library via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your desired date and time in the email.
