Collection Information

Paul Zonn donations of printed music and recordings

Largely circulating collection (printed materials). Some recordings may be with uncataloged LPs in storage. Additional music and papers housed at the Sousa Archives and Center for American Music.

Private collection of donor, a composer and former faculty member of School of Music.

When acquired

Numerous donations between 1980 and 1996

Over 500 editions of printed music (almost all late twentieth century repertory), as well as 177 recordings. Included are 29 works by Zonn, as well as other published and unpublished works, many by former students and faculty members of the School of Music.

Printed music editions largely cataloged individually for circulating collection. Some recordings may have been incorporated into uncataloged record or tape collections in the University Press Building storage area

Access/Finding Aids/Bibliography

Almost all printed music editions listed by composer/title in correspondence included in Collections File folder (“Zonn, Paul”) (see list below). Unfortunately, no list exists of donated recordings, which were probably mostly 33 1/3 rpm.
