Information for First Year Experience Instructors

Below are helpful tips for first year experiences instructors on requesting a course integrated library session(s) or introductory library workshops.

  1. Library instruction will be the most helpful for your students when they have an assignment that requires them to do research.
  2. Students will learn better if the library instruction session is scheduled for when students are just starting to work on their research assignment.
  3. If you don’t have a research assignment, but still believe it would be beneficial for your students to learn about library services and resources, workshops covering library basics are a good alternative to an instruction class. Workshops can be scheduled with the Student Success Librarian.
  4. Please schedule sessions or workshops at least two weeks in advance of desired date to allow for planning time.
