GOBI Notifications

Notifications

GOBI3 users can set up new title notifications – called GobiAlerts – using either their library’s slip plan or parameters that are set in GOBI3.  GobiAlerts allows users to recommend titles for purchase.

Notifications search the entire database and do not match slip profiles. Slip profiles block new titles from those publishers’ imprints where we get all those publishers’ ebooks annually (Springer, Elsevier and most of Wiley. It is extremely important to check the catalog to see if we own an ecopy of a title before ordering on GOBI when using notifications as they cannot be blocked from these searches and alerts from GOBI. Notifications are best used for firm orders when doing free form searching of GOBI or retrospective buying. Slip matches for approvals cover all core publishers and subjects.
