The Career Cluster is a special, self-service collection of books for students interested in learning various types of information about college, graduate school, careers, job-searching, financial aid, internships, and working/studying abroad. The Career Cluster contains undergraduate and graduate college profiles, college rankings, college test study guides, job-searching and career guides, as well as lots of other useful information you can use to make important educational and career decisions. Career Cluster materials do not circulate, meaning you can't check them out. However, the Career Cluster area offers comfortable couches and chairs for browsing.
For information on resume critiques and other programs the career center provides at the Undergraduate Library, visit the Career Center resume critique webpage.
For information on Career Conversations and Walk-Up Career Advising, visit the Career Conversations and General Drop-Ins webpage.
For further information on jobs in particular, check out the Career Center website. They offer services which include "mock" interviews, resume reviews, and a Career Resources Center containing hundreds of books and magazines that offer information on career planning.
Located on the Upper Level of the Undergraduate Library, the Career Cluster is located on the south side of the building, next to the Reference collection. Stop at the Undergraduate Library Reference Desk for further assistance in locating or using this collection.
The Career Cluster books are separated into three sections. Each section's books are color-coded (see colored label on book spines) so that you can easily find the type of information you need. The following list shows the colors that correspond to the topics of Career Cluster books:
Orange: College and graduate school information as well as test prep guides.
Yellow: Career and industry specific information, including business, government, education, health sciences, and more!
Green: Resume & cover letter writing, interviewing and job-seeking advice.
