Priority level for this service

Maintaining on-campus public access to our local digital images collections is a high priority for Library IT. We make every effort to resolve problems with this service as quickly as possible during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. At other times, you can normally expect a response within 24 hours.

Problems with remote (off-campus) access to the CONTENTdm are resolved as quickly as possible on the next business day.

Issues with individual collections hosted in CONTENTdm and with individual record problems, metadata errors, and functions supporting staff editing and updating of collections are dealt with during normal business hours by staff in CAM, DSD, and the individual Library unit(s) responsible for bibliographic control and management of the specific collection involved.

How to report a problem

If the CONTENTdm public interface is down or not responding to search requests , please log a ticket with the IT Help Desk or call the Help Desk at 244-4688. Incoming tickets and calls are reviewed and prioritized as they arrive between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets or calls coming in after hours are reviewed promptly on the next business day.

If it is outside normal business hours (8:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday)  and you believe there is a widespread outage, please call 244-4688 and leave a message with the Library IT Help Desk answering service (aka the AITS Service Desk). In an emergency situation the answering service will contact Library IT on-call support staff promptly.

If the CONTENTdm public search and browse interface is running but you cannot connect to specific collections or if you are not able to gain access to your collection records or metadata for editing and updating, email dsd@library.illinois.edu to report the problem; these problems will be addressed the next business day.
