The Scholarly Commons opened in August 2010 to serve the emerging needs of faculty, researchers, and graduate students pursuing in-depth research and scholarly inquiry. It serves as a consultation space in the Main Library where experts are available to support exploration of new models for teaching, learning, and research in a contemporary academic environment.

Data services consultation hours are now available. Services include acquiring data sets needed for teaching and research; locating, downloading and preparing data for secondary analysis; and identifying and creating course materials and teaching tools (including customized data sets drawn from various data repositories).

Once you’re done exploring, proceed towards the Rare Book and Manuscript Library, located at the end of the hallway facing the Scholarly Commons. Only loose paper, pencils, tablets, and laptop computers removed from their case may be brought into this library. Please place all other belongings in one of the lockers just outside the entrance.
