EXHIBITS & EVENTS

Due to campus COVID-19 restrictions for the safety of our staff and community, RBML is closed to the public until further notice.

Ask-a-Curator  remote public services (reference, instruction, and digitization) are available 9am-5pm, M-F.

For the health and safety of RBML staff, researchers are strongly encouraged to request digital delivery of materials if that would serve their purposes. This is a free service for members of the Illinois campus community.

Beginning October 1, a limited number of in-person appointments to access RBML and IHLC collections materials are available to Illinois campus users who can gain access to the building using established campus protocols for demonstrating their testing status at the Marshall Gallery entrance to the Library (e.g. Safer at Illinois app or alternate campus-approved methods). For more information please look at our Plan A Visit page.

Please contact us using the “Ask-a-Curator” button.

This event “sold out” in just a few days, so we added livestreaming. Tune in via YouTube or Facebook at Champaign.org/live!

The Rare Book & Manuscript Library is exploring methods for remote interactive and pre-recorded instruction.

Fall instruction will be available as of September 24th.

Instructors needing Rare Book & Manuscript Library content for their syllabus should contact Ask-a-Curator beginning August 1st.

Sessions will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. We will also accept reference and digitization requests at that time.
