“Voices of Illinois,” which uses the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS) application and viewer, will serve as the oral history portal and curation platform for Student Life & Culture Archives and University Archives oral histories. The current service being requested will enable Archives staff to upload XML files containing metadata and transcripts to a publicly accessible viewer (called the OHMS Viewer).
When is this service available
The publicly accessible OHMS Viewer website (aka “Voices of Illinois”) should be available at all times, but is mainly expected to be used by Archives staff (i.e., uploading XML metadata and transcripts) 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday
Priority level for this service
Problems with Voices of Illinois are dealt with during normal business hours by Library IMS.
How to report a problem
If Voices of Illinois is down, please log a ticket with the IT Help Desk or call the Help Desk at 244-4688. Incoming tickets and calls are reviewed and prioritized as they arrive between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
If you believe there is a widespread outage, please call 244-4688 and leave a message with the Library IT Help Desk. During business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.), the Library IT Help Desk will answer, and during evenings or weekends, the AITS Service Desk will answer on behalf of the Help Desk. In an emergency situation, the AITS Service Desk answering service will contact Library IT on-call support staff promptly.
