Description
Illinois Experts is a repository for UIUC research activity metadata and a portal for discovery and access to UIUC research outputs (publications, datasets, patents, etc.). The service supports researcher profiles on both the public portal and across many campus websites.
When is this service available
This website is typically expected to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Priority level for this service
Help requests with Illinois Experts are dealt with during normal business hours by Library IT, Monday – Friday 8:30-5:00. We make every effort to work with hosted dependencies, if necessary, and resolve outages as quickly as possible.
How to report a problem
If Illinois Experts is down, please notify us at experts-help@illinois.edu or call the Help Desk at 244-4688. Incoming emails and calls are reviewed and prioritized as they arrive between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
If you believe there is a widespread outage, please call 244-4688 and leave a message with the Library IT Help Desk. During business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. -5 p.m.), the Library IT Help Desk will answer, and during evenings or weekends, the AITS Service Desk will answer on behalf of the Help Desk. In an emergency situation, the AITS Service Desk answering service will contact Library IT on-call support staff promptly.
Who can use this service
Anyone can access the Illinois Experts portal. UIUC-affiliated faculty and unit-approved staff may log into the service to make updates to researcher profiles.

What you must have to use this service
To access the portal: An internet connection and web browser.
To make profile updates: A UIUC-affiliated NetID and password (staff must also have the approval of their unit head).
