Description

The service allows American Bibliography of Slavic and East European Studies (ABSEES) ABSEES contributing editors to add (and make changes) to citations in the ABSEES database, pending approval of the ABSEES managing editor.

Once these edited records are approved by the ABSEES managing editor, the bibliographic records are collected for the ABSEES EBSCO service.

When is this service available

ABSEES is normally available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Priority level for this service

Maintaining the ABSEES database is a standard agreement, meaning problems with the service are dealt with during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.).

How to report a problem

If you believe there is an issue with the ABSEES database used for inputting the bibliographic data that will be submitted to EBSCO, please log a ticket with the IT Help Desk or call the Help Desk at 244-4688. Incoming tickets and calls are reviewed and prioritized as they arrive between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets or calls coming in after hours are reviewed promptly on the next business day.

Who can use this service

ABSEES is only available to approved ABSEES contributors.

There is no documentation at this time.

What you must have to use this service

To use ABSEES you must have a computer with an internet connection and a web browser. You also must authenticate via bluestem and be authorized within the ABSEES system.

Service Owners

The service owner is the ABSEES Managing Editor (Irene Kolchinsky).

Library IT supports the ABSEES web interface to collect the information and send it to EBSCO.

EBSCO supports the EBSCO database and the public’s access to the ABSEES records.
