Illinois Compass 2g and the Microsoft Edge browser on Windows 10

There are currently some compatibility issues with the Windows 10 Microsoft Edge browser and Illinois Compass 2g, Technology Services recommends using Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer in the meantime.

Useful Keyboard Shortcuts

Windows+L Locks the computer

Windows+I Opens the computer settings
Windows+S Search the web and Windows with Cortana (keyboard input)
Windows+Left, Right, Up, or Down Arrow Snaps the current window to the left, right, top, or bottom or screen, respectively
Windows+Tab Shows all open windows
Windows+E Open Window Explorer
Alt+Tab Switch to previous window

Can’t find the folder or app you’re looking for?

Open the Start Menu (either by clicking on it or using the Window key) and start typing the name of the folder, app, or file you are looking for an it will automatically start searching.

Customize your Start Menu

You can easily remove or add app tiles on your Start Menu to customize it to work best for you.

To remove a tile from the Start Menu, right-click on the tile and select “Unpin from Start”.

To add a tile to the Start Menu, right-click on the app and select “Pin to Start”.

Create and navigate between multiple desktops

To create a desktop, click on the Task View button in the taskbar and click on “+ New desktop”.

To navigate between desktops, click on the Task View button and click on the thumbnail of the desktop you want to switch to.

To close a destkop, click the Task View button, hover over the thumbnail of the desktop you would like to close, and click the “X” button.
