Without more money, the Library can’t grow. We need to adjust our hiring to respond to demand for services now and services we might need in the future.
Some growth has come from campus’ investment in the Library as a trusted resource—COM, RDS, Illinois Experts, Distributed Museum. There may be future possibilities for DPI. John wants to think positively about what we will do but also to give thought to what we might discontinue doing in order to support that.
We need to think about the trends and see what direction we are more likely to move in the future. University administration continues to be interested in looking at Interdisciplinary programs and opportunities.

John met with the Humanities Council. They had a good discussion concerning the Library Building Project. John continues to address misconceptions. He will also meet with English and Classics soon.
