June 6, 2022

Attendees: John Wilkin (Chair); Mara Thacker (Vice-Chair); Peg Burnette, Bill Maher, Dan Tracy, Joe Lenkart, and Lucretia Williams; Recording

 

Absent: Chris Wiley and Kelli Trei

 

1. Approve Minutes for May 23, 2022 – EC meeting minutes were approved with minor amendments upon a motion by Mara Thacker and second by Peg Burnette.

 

2. Question time – Dean Wilkin

• President Killeen sent an email announcement announcing the 3.5% merit raise program. This is separate from Compression Market Equity and Retention and the programs (CMER), which has separate funding this year. Discussions have begun with the process of modeling that 3.5% consistent with the discussions that Dean Wilkin had with Library Executive Committee, LSSC, and LCP.
• A member of EC asked about the Unit Annual Report template and how those are updated, and whether some elements could be streamlined. EC will invite David Ward and Jen Yu to a future EC meeting to discuss this further.

 

3. Emeritus, 0% Appointment Requests – EC approved two Faculty for Emeritus status, and one for a 0% research appointment. Dean Wilkin and Lucretia Williams will work on the required documents to submit to the Provost’s Office.

 

4. Digital Humanities Librarian Search Committee – EC appointed committee members and Lucretia Williams will reach out to the appointed and then report back to EC.

 

5. Discuss topics to discuss with AULs/Directors –

 The AULs/Directors will not meet with EC on June 13, 2022 because EC will be discussing volunteer committee assignments. Dean Wilkin would like for the AULs/Directors and LSSC/LCP representatives to join EC together on July 11, 2022, to discuss plans for the Fall.

 

Dean Wilkin will not be present for the June 13, 2022, EC meeting while EC discusses committee assignments.

 

6. Current Library Council Proposal Draft – Mara Thacker briefed EC on the current Library Council Proposal Draft. The draft has been circulated along with the supplementary document. There has been a lot of feedback (questions & comments) which the committee is reviewing. The next open feedback session is scheduled for Wednesday, June 9, 2022, with other events to follow. Members of EC provided some additional comments on the current draft.
