Schedule: Flexible pre-established schedule within the hours of Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Employees will not be expected to work during fall, winter, or spring break.

Summary
Scholarly Communication and Publishing is looking for Library Digital Humanities Graduate Hourly for the 2026-2027 academic year. The unit is presently engaged in several key projects to support DH through synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities. These include leading workshops on DH and AI topics, developing Canvas modules to promote AI literacy through a DH lens, recording and captioning tutorial videos, updating DH, AI, and text mining LibGuides, and delivering in-class instruction sessions on DH topics. The DH grad hourly will support pedagogical activities through co-designing instructional materials, building Canvas modules, reviewing current LibGuides, and other related tasks.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing training materials (40%)
- Reviewing subject guides (30%)
- Assisting hybrid workshops (20%)
- Assisting in-class instruction sessions (10%)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Enrolled as Graduate Student in the School of Information Sciences Master’s program for Library and Information Sciences (MSLIS) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for the 2026-2027 Academic Year
- Familiarity with at least one digital humanities analytical method (mapping, network analysis, natural language processing)
- Able to participate in on-campus workshops and instruction sessions
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with WCAG guidelines and accessibility standards
- Experience creating content in Canvas
- Experience with Kaltura or other caption-cleaning tools
*Graduate students with existing Library positions are welcome to apply, but please note that graduate students should not work more than 26.8 hours/per week across all positions during fall and spring semesters. This total includes both graduate hourly and pre-professional graduate assistant positions.
