Guide to the Classics of Children's Literature

The titles in this collection were originally published prior to 1932. From 1976 through 1978, Garland Publishing, Inc. of New York reproduced the facsimiles listed below under the series title "Classics of Children's Literature." Each title in the series contains a short preface, a bibliography of the author's other works for children, and selected references.

While the School (S-) Collection does contain many of the Garland facsimiles, the University Library may or may not own an original copy. If we do own an original copy, these would be found in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library (RBML) room 346 of the Main Library. Search the Online Library Catalog to determine if we have both the Garland and original editions. An author, title, or author/title search will display the call number and location. Original printings are held in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library and Main Stacks as well. Some titles have been published together in one volume (e.g., Holiday Romance, Petsetilla's Posy and King of the Golden River are all in one volume: S.R897k1976), therefore the call number will indicate only one of the titles included.
