1. October minutes approved as amended

2. Updates and Announcements

• Diversity Celebration Breakfast: – well attended. Recipient of Sankofa Award Albert R. Lee (June 26, 1874-August 24, 1948) A short film on Albert R. Lee was shown.  Diversity Committee would like to have a copy to show at Library or Community event.
• Diversity Leadership Council – Cindy reports that information is on our G drive
• Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Search – There is a strong candidate so far, another interview coming up after Thanksgiving. Cindy will let us know if there is an open session for us to attend.

3. Possible Events

• Cultural Connections Series: – Atoma reports that there are four people interested in speaking at the Library. Two students that are from Columbia.  One person from Chile and one person from Ecuador.  Atoma will check to see if they can come January 25^th or February 1^st from 12:00-1:30 to talk about their country, traditions, and history.
• Training on Moving from Ally to Co-Conspirator – Cindy reports Director of Women’s Research Center did a training on moving from Ally to Co-Conspirator. Cindy will look into this training for Library in late February early March.
• Training from ISSS – Cindy reports that the Library has already done the Instruction to cross-cultural communication workshop and exploring communication styles workshop. Cindy will found out more about the workshop called cultural connections in the workplace.

4. Meeting with Jake MacGregor in December

• Cindy will send email to committee asking for questions to Jake to prepare for meeting. So far we would like to talk to Jake about workshops, implicit bias training, what he thinks of the climate. Cindy will share the minutes from the Organizational Development and Training Committee meeting so that we can be aware of some of the issues that they are discussing.

5. Other Business

• Sousa Archives event Beautiful Music Around Us featuring Renee Baker Nov 14^th and returning in February.
• JJ reports the Veterans exhibit in hall until Nov 30th. Theme next November will be Women in the Military.
