May 12, 2022 Meeting of Student-Focused Spaces Task Force

1. Complete student feedback discussions (in Box)

The team discussed what topics around space use we would like to know more about after reviewing existing data.  These topics included: changes in space use resulting from the pandemic, including understanding how students define a “healthy” environment; physical layout preferences; what motivates students to leave their residence and study on campus; what contributes to the feeling of safety in the Library; what social scene or vibe would make the Library welcoming to students; what unique spaces, resources, or services are appealing to students; and what marketing and outreach is necessary to communicate about available spaces to students.

2. Review Literature review discussion

Each team member shared their readings with the group, discussing what was interesting about the article, and what we might want to apply to the task force’s work.  For the June meeting, each team member will read all of the article’s in the Box folder.
