Approve February Minutes:  Approved

Liaison Reports and Updates:

Administration:   Union negotiations are close to an agreement.  Reminder to complete the Preventing Harassment and Discrimination Training by April 1, 2022.

Administrative Council:  Did not meet.

Area Studies:  Mentioned search for Mortenson program director, discussed faculty ten-year and travel funds.

Arts & Humanities:  Guest: Dan Tracy.  Discussion on reconfiguring Spencer Keralis former position.

Central Public Services:  Did not meet.

Law:  Guest: MJ Han to discuss Alma and resolved some issues.

Life Sciences:   Nothing to report.

Physical Sciences:  Did not meet.

Res Hall:  Finishing up end of semester book clubs, reading day in the works; budget will stay the same for collections, small amount for student staff, nothing for promotions, equipment or extra; investigating grants for funding assistance for outreach events.

Social Studies: Didn’t meet

Special Collections:  Nothing new on building project; discussion on exhibits Conservation exhibits; Marco Valladares Perez gave talked about his job on the exhibits.

Technical Services:  Looking for division liaison while Kyle Rimkus is on sabbatical Sept-June; Preservation week in April with program for students, bookmaking event, etc., being organized by Shelby Strommer.

Other News:

  • Inclusive governance advisory group formed: new scope; Library Council Implementation Group is a working name proposed.
  • LSSC meeting time discussion – keep the same date and time.
  • Conference CSE ALA update: review committee in progress, advance ticket deadline is 3/31.
  • RFS honorees in registration process, Conference is Friday, April 8, 2022, process is being documented
  • Suggest doing a brown bag with LSSC
  • Mini-grants & Robert Howerton Scholarship update – thoughts? General guidelines, how large the grants (up to $250?), eligibility?   – write something up and share with LSSC
  • Membership updates: Looking for LSD liaison for next term.

      1. Staff lounge unlocked 8 am -5:00 pm or 9:00 am – 5:00 pm depending on the person who unlocks
      2. Warm water in bathrooms
  • Second microwave (Sara Holder checking with Facilities, electricity available, will need to be looked into and add (current power supply not available)
  • Spring LSSC drop-in hour is April 14th 2:30-3:30
  • Special Collections Building update: Student workspaces are being prepared on 4th
  • COVID-19 updates (testing to 1 week instead of 2/week)
