  1. Minutes:  Alex next (March 1), then Mara, then Joe.
  2. Minutes of December 2015 were approved by email.
  3. Disaster Response Continuity of Services and Communications Plan:  What happens *after* there is an emergency in the Library? How do we bring things back up again? Communicate with users? Work to date on this project is in the “DisasterPlanning” folder in the USAC G:drive directory.
    1. It was suggested that the plan be organized around the following elements:
      1. Building(s) closure (facilities)
      2. Network outage (IT)
      3. Staff shortage (Public Services)
      4. Lync outage
      5. Communication
        1. Making sure information reaches the Administration so they can disseminate and respond.
        2. Determining what information is needed and who needs it.
    2. Call for volunteers to take the lead in coordinating this:
      1. Jim and Joe will develop the plan with input from JoAnn.
      2. Susan S. offered to serve as an editor.
      3. Other members offered support as needed.
      4. Suggestions for places to look for plans we can use as a model:
        1. ARL – JoAnn will post question
        2. Library of Congress – Joe will look into
        3. New York Public Library
  4. Committee and Working Group Reports
    1. Public Engagement Working Group – the group has met and is enthusiastic. They have discussed their goals and are developing a common set of definitions. Then they will break into smaller groups to address the other pieces of the group’s charge.
    2. Reference Management Team – they are working on models for service in Main/UGL and are deciding how to evaluate cost savings.  They are also considering the impact on SSHEL of a Main reference move to the first floor.
    3. The Reference Retreat is shaping up will have a variety of speakers, including Jen Yu, Suzanne Chapman and Chris Prom.

    1. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 1, 9:00-10:00 am in room 230B.
