2. Updates

• IDEALS’19
  Dean Wilkin supported all 3 candidates who applied (Zoe, David Lottes, Tracy Tolliver).
• Webinar Transgender Inclusion in Libraries Resources
  Link of resources, handouts, & webinar sent out.
  Will host resources on Diversity Committee webpage & on Resources in LGBT Studies library webpage. https://www.library.illinois.edu/sshel/genderwomens/lgbt/
  Send ideas of where to host resources to Cindy.
• Other Updates/Announcements:
  LGBTQA Ally Training (March 13^th with facilitator Jennifer Heaton) went well. Registration filled up fast with many people who expressed interest unable to attend. Follow up Transgender Q&A panel on April 11^th. Transgender people expressed discomfort on being on the panel due to being subjected to a hostile environment.

  Four more candidates for Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion position (second round).

  Discussion of Design Branch – Libraries as Spaces for Design: Creating a Cross-disciplinary Hub for Active Student Learning event in the EIU Library.

  Discussion of Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center open house (April 9^th noon to 1:30 pm on W. Nevada St.).

  Women of Jazz flyers posted (April 30^th Jessica).

3. Discussion Draft Checklist Events/Communication
   Discussion of instructions, list, and checklist (rolled into one document). Please review and email any suggestions for changes.
4. Upcoming Events for Spring 2019
   Discussion on White Fragility April 18. Cindy will send a reminder to LibNews (Barbara Jones will lead the discussion).Showing Albert Lee Film April 24.  Biographer Vanessa Rouillon will phone-in after the showing for questions.
   Discussion of help with set-up & food/drink on a table in the foyer. Zoe will create budget proposal for boxes of popcorn, candy, soda & water.  Nicole Cooke (iSchool) will help to promote the event. Jessica will get flyer out this week.  This is a community event and will be posted on local community calendars.

   Exhibit for Black History Month 2020. Can reuse material from Special Collections and add to it.

   Potluck in late May or early June. Discussion of venue (the Y due to proximity and low cost) and dates (Zoe will check).
   Jessica will email Erik Chapman (chair of Library Staff Support Committee) for help.  Laila may be available to help.
   Diversity Committee will promote on International Scholar & Student Services website for cultural events.Upcoming Events for Spring 2019.
