Minutes for January 23, 2020 meeting

Approve December Minutes: Approved with no corrections.

Liaison Reports and Updates…

Arts & Humanities: Met with EC.  There were some GA Allocation questions and if the work they had would be better for student or hourlies to do.

Central Public Services: No report

Undergraduate Library: No report

 

Law: Construction completed – fully open

Life Sciences: No report

Physical Sciences and Engineering:  No report

Residence Hall:  Started the weeding/clean-up process in order to consolidate from the four locations down to 2 in May.

 

Special Collections:  The upcoming fall 2020 exhibit is being reviewed and worked on.  Alma was discussed.  In particular, what impact would local notes and info on copies have.  Would it be better to keep the information visible in the network zone or keep separate?

Technical Services:  No meeting.  Shelby Strommer, Collections Care Coordinator starts February 16.

Administrative Council:  Did not meet

Administration:  If you attended the Library Recognition Event, please fill out the survey.

Faculty Meeting: No report

 

Building Project staff event:   Ben submitted feedback to Tom Teper.  Discuss response with Ben at next LSSC meeting.

Potluck with Diversity Committee tentative plan is for June 3^rd.  No further updates.

Other news, comments, and updates:

Approved for $1500/person travel support for 2 staff to ALA in Chicago.  Not approved to send staff to poster sessions.  Administration will revisit poster session discussion next year.
