Today we had the ISYM sax studio visit the Sousa Archives this afternoon. It was a delight having Andrew Gaffey’s and Jack Govern’s students spend time playing some of our historical saxophones. The instruments the students are holding includes from left to right our Carl Fischer contrabass sax, our C.G. Conn bass sax that was play by Fred Monroe in the Sousa Band, a Holton 1914 tenor sax, a Buescher True-Tone alto sax, an F-mezzo soprano sax, and a York soprano sax. The students had a great time visit. We look forward to having them visit us again in the future.
