Safari Tech Books Online — New Interface

Several big changes have come to the library this year already.  On June 30th, you may notice one more.  Earlier this year, a new Safari e-books interface was launched.  Several items have been linked to this new interface already, but the old Safari platform will be completely converted to the new by the end of the month.  What does this mean for the general library user?  For starters, this new platform allows unlimited simultaneous users on each item, rather than just a few at a time like the old system.  It also means more content and media with your e-books.

The way you access this platform has also changed dramatically.  Upon first using the new Safari platform, you will be asked to log in with your @illinois.edu email address.  You will then be prompted to create an account.  The Finding and Using E-Books LibGuide has been updated to show this new process and gives step by step instructions for setting up your account.  You can access this LibGuide through the following link: https://guides.library.illinois.edu/ebook/providers#s-lg-box-17573721

As always, if you have any questions or need help using this new e-book interface we would be happy to help.
