Sousa Archives Sponsors Champaign-Urbana Folk and Roots Festival’s Family Performances for All Ages November 8

The Sousa Archives and Center for American Music  is again sponsoring a series of free family performances as part of the 2014 Champaign-Urbana Folk and Roots Festival on November 8 at Urbana’s Landmark Hotel Ballroom.  This series was made possible through a generous gift by Brenda Pacey given in memory of her grandparents, Walter and Nora (Wright) McElroy and John T. and Mary (Bickel) Woody, who were Illinois farmers and school teachers.

The children’s programming begins with the Mr. Stephens Family Show (9:30am) and is followed by Mama Edie Armstrong (10:15am), Family Dance with the Volo Bogtrotters (11:00am), Mo’ Betta Jazz Band (11:45am), Bones, Jugs ‘n Harmony Family Show (12:30pm), Musical Mayhem Parade (1:30pm), Pop Wagner Family Show (1:45pm), and Dance Try-Its (2:30pm).  All of this programming is free and open to the general public.  For further information visit http://archives.library.illinois.edu/sousa/events/ or call 217-333-4577.
