Folk and Roots Festival Kicks Off October 20

For those who haven’t experienced down home entertainment for people of all ages, now is your chance to catch some of these exciting music performances right here in Urbana, Illinois.  The Festival kicks off on Thursday at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts with performances by the Turino Family Band at 5pm and the Earl White String Band starting at 6pm.  On Friday you can enjoy Jeff Helgesen and Friends, Dom Flemons, Eddie Barbash performing with the KASA Quartet, and the Bashful Youngens at the Rose Bowl.  On Saturday the daytime All Ages programs, sponsored by the Sousa Archives, are all free to attend and will include the Paw Paws, Bill Poss, Bill Kirby and the Musical Mayhem Parade, CU Irish Session, and a Blues Jam with Mr. Sensation and the Sensations.
