More Exciting April Music Programming from the Sousa Archives

 

The Sousa Archives and Center for American Music has two more exciting music programs planned for later this month.  On April 22nd the Center is bringing to campus the wonderful University of Wisconsin Russian Folk Orchestra for an afternoon of delightful music and a pre-concert talk about Russian folk orchestra traditions in American and the start of the University of Illinois Russian Folk Orchestra under the direction of John Garvey.  On April 24th the Sousa Archives celebrates UNESCO International Jazz Day with an evening of historic films and music recognizing the contributions of the U.S. State Department’s Jazz Ambassadors program which was used to enhanced America’s diplomatic relationships with countries around the world.
