A Musical Tour of the Imperfect Saxophone Exhibit

For those folks who have not had a chance to visit the Center’s new exhibit, “The Imperfect Saxophone: Not Just a Clown’s Instrument,” which opened last December, you might enjoy viewing this lovely video of the University Wind Symphony saxophone quartet performing the first movement of Pierre Lantier’s Andante et Scherzetto in our exhibition.   It’s just pure beautiful music and images of our new exhibit to highlight the fact that the saxophone, when played by extraordinary musicians, can be musical perfection for the ears.  So take a few minutes to enjoy this short music video, and if you wish to learn more about the saxophone’s early legacy in American then schedule a tour of the show by either calling 217-333-4577 or emailing schwrtzs@illinois.edu.
