Locating campus, local, and regional information can be challenging, as this information
may not be included in the databases we often rely on when beginning our research. The sources
included on this page will help you locate these types of sources.

Archives - Includes over 17,000 cubic feet of office records, publications, and personal
papers from the University and the Urbana-Champaign campus.

The Student Life and Culture Archival
Program - Part of the University Archives includes collections relating to student life
and culture on the national level and at the University of Illinois.

Historical Survey - Has material on Illinois and local history, in addition to other
collections.

UI Histories
Project - Traces the history of the university, including buildings, collections, gifts,
and more.

UIUC Campus Information - Official of
online resources including course catalogs, programs of study, general education requirements,
etc.

The following database links provide access to local and regional newspapers.
To search other Illinois newspapers via Access World News:
- Enter

- Select
Illinois from the
Shortcuts in the left-hand menu.
- Enter search terms to search all Illinois newspapers simultaneously OR
- Select desired newspapers to search by checking the boxes to the left of the newspaper
titles.
College Newspapers
To search the Daily Illini:
- Search via
Lexis-Nexis, 1997 - present. In the “Search the News” section, enter
your keywords and put Daily Illini as the “Source Title
