Find a Specific Database

Note: This page assumes you know the name of a particular article database that you wish to search. If you are not familiar with article databases but would like to find articles on a particular subject, see this page.

Go to the Online Research Resources (ORR) page and select the Article Indexes and Abstracts tab.

Article Indexes and Abstracts tab in ORR
In the Search Index Titles box, type in the title of the article database that you need and click the Search button.

Searching for a database title in the ORR

Remember that you are NOT searching for articles yet, but only for a particular database of articles! Do not put article titles or subjects in this search engine -- you won't find anything!
Hopefully, you will now be presented with a list of databases that includes the one you need. If you're not sure, click the Information icon icon next to the name of a database to find out more about it. Once you've found the right database, click its link to enter the database. Many databases require you to go through one or more intermediate screens before you can begin searching for articles.

If your search does not bring up the right database, you can also Browse Indexes Alphabetically. To browse, select the letter or number that the database title begins with. This will give you an alphabetical listing of database names that start with that letter.

If you still can't find the database you need, or have found it but aren't sure how to use it, please Ask A Librarian .
