Since at least 1897, Lithuanian students have been a part of the University of Illinois. Lithuanian Illini have included baseball players, basketball players, electrical engineers, football players, journalists, liberal arts majors, library catalogers, mechanical engineers, military officers, swimmers, and teachers.
