Overview

PARSA’s works and services are accessible through a number of portals and formats in Persian, English, and Persian. Currently the databank holds over 200,000 work, including books, articles/series, and dissertations in the Islamic studies. The information is found through Keyword search and as well as subject heading, in the form of; bibliography, index, abstract, and the image of the book cover.  Further, cross-referencing with numbers and codes is another tool to obtain additional information.

Printed Material

  • Reference 78-PARSA initiated its operation by publishing the annual Islamic bibliography of the year 1378(2000). It is published in two volumes and includes 5435 entries, divided into two sections: annotations and indexes.
  • Reference 79– Includes almost 9000 titles of books, articles and dissertations.
  • Reference 80– comprises of 8252 works.
  • Reference 81– consists of 9000 works, published in the year 1381 (2003). In this edition works of minimum scholarly value have also been included, under the 20 Islamic subject categories.
  • Reference 82– there are 10,000 in two volumes in the year 1382.
  • Reference 83– nearly includes all publications relevant to Islamic sciences in 1383 with 8749 number of resources. Abstracts in this volume cover 40% of the entire reference 83.
  • Reference 2000– is a report of Islamic books published abroad in 1997-2001 as well as PARSA’s international operations.  This volume includes 5000 works all organized according to PARSA and international standards of bibliography. The geographical scope covers Arabian states, Europe,
  • Global bibliography of the Koran-This annotated bibliography which is also organized by subject heading comes in 4 volumes, with a total of 9500 entries. It is divided into two sections; the Koran and Koran studies and sciences, including translations and analysis of the verses, and also Islamic terms which are discussed within the holly book.
  • The bibliography of Mohammad the prophet– This bibliography contains 4399 books, articles and dissertations with reference to the prophet’s life, character, and his leadership. They are all derived from the original sources in English/European, Persian and Arabic. Abstracts are derived from less than half of the entire material. The information in this bibliography like other PARSA products is easily accessible with regards to international classification schemes.
  • The bibliography of Imam Mehdihttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahdaviat   consists of 3336 sources, in one volume plus a compact disc. It is divided into two sections, sources about Imam Mehdi and his wisdom.
  •  Imam Ali’s reflection in literature– Is a comprehensive bibliographical source of 8500, about Imam Ali’s life including  4000 books, 3000 articles in periodicals, 1300 in series, 350 dissertations, and more than 100 pieces in different encyclopedias in Persian, English,Urdo, French, German Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and ……etc.
  • Bibliography of Islamic Arts– Is a report of more than 4500 sources about Islamic art. This bibliography comes in one volume along with a compact disc.  The sources include books, articles in series and periodicals, encyclopedias, and also dissertations.
  • Al-Dalil 2005– Al-dalil is a year book of Islamic sources in Arabic. It includes annotation, index, and abstracts of 2000 published material in Iran. Al-Dalil will be published annually from now on in order to better accommodate to scholars.
  • Islamic books quarterly– was first published in the summer of 1379(2001), with the purpose of introducing newly published books on Islamic sciences of Iran and the world in Persian, English and Arabic. The quarterly has organized its sources in three categories; articles on Islamic sciences, reports, and Islamic science bibliography. There have been 27 issues published so far.
  • Bibliography of periodicals/articles about Imam Ali– this work includes more than 2500 articles about Imam Ali within 180 periodicals published in the country.
  • The prophet Mohammad bibliography– Holds more than 1400 articles in 130 periodicals.
  • Imam Hussein bibliography of articles– is the most comprehensive bibliography of articles about Imam Hussein in more than 130 periodicals.
  • Bibliography of articles about the Koran in the 70s (1992-2001) – Bibliographical information of more than 2000 articles about Koran.

  • Bibliography of Imam’s descendants (Imamzadeh) –  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imamzadeh  This bibliography is a source of books, articles and dissertations which are dedicated to the life, work and wonders of Imamzadeh’s. It includes 1660 entries with abstracts of works.
  • Ambassadors of salvation– is the title of a book with which thirty articles about Imamzadehs in various journals are introduced.
  • A research on old manuscripts– the first volume consists of a series of articles about bibliographical processes of old manuscripts in private and public libraries of Iran and the world. The second volume is in the publishing process supported by the library of Iranian National Parliament and includes; reports of index, corrections subject heading bibliography and research on manuscripts. Also includes a list of libraries around the globe, in which Islamic manuscripts are held.
  • Besat nameh (the appointment for prophet hood) – is a series of articles about Mohammad and the time of his appointment from God. It has been chronologically arranged.
  • Best of Islamic articles– a collection of articles on various Islamic science topics, written during 100 years of Islamic journalism.
  • Software- PARSA Data Bank has produced 15 compact discs of its previous publications such as; Reference 78,79,80,81,82,83,2000,Koran global bibliography, Mohammad the Prophet in writings, Bibliography of Imam Mehdi, Islamic arts, Imam Ali in writing, Islamic articles, Al-dalil 2005, and 2006.
