Bella

Howdy! My name is Bella, I’m a graduate student at the ischool studying library and information science. Before coming to Illinois, I lived in the Houston area, and got my undergraduate degree in film & digital media at Baylor University. Beyond academics, I enjoy reading (especially comics and science fiction), cycling, and antique shopping! I look forward to learning together!

 

 

 

Brian

I’m a graduate student at the iSchool, where I study library and information science. My background is primarily in writing and editing. I was a copy editor for a while, and I recently completed an MFA in creative writing. I enjoy researching any and all topics and look forward to working with you on any research question that you might have.

 

 

 

Isabela (She/her)

Hello, hello! My name is Isabela and I’m a graduate student at the iSchool studying Library and Information Sciences. I studied Creative Writing (Major) and Chemistry (Minor) at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. My personal research interests include graphic novels and accessibility, color blindness technology, and sense of belonging in libraries. Outside of school, my hobbies include reading graphic novels, baking and playing video games. I also speak, read, and write fluent Brazilian Portuguese. I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your research!

 

 

Inbar (they/she)

Hello everyone! My name is Inbar and I am a graduate student at the Information School, working towards earning a Master’s degree in Library Science. I earned a Bachelor’s in History, with a minor in Humanities and Law at the University of California, Irvine (I was raised in California, so it’s my first time living out-of-state!). I currently work as a Graduate Assistant at the Teaching, Learning, and Academic Support unit in the Main Library. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, writing poetry, and of course, reading! Jenni
Hello! My name is Jenni, and I am a first-year graduate student of the iSchool with aspirations to work at a public library outreach program for first-generation students. I studied at Carleton College where I majored in English and minored in Spanish. I am a native Spanish speaker, but I have also studied the language formally and am familiar with the various dialects. I worked at Barnes and Noble for many years while attending school, so I am very passionate about working with the bare minimum to find exactly what my patron is looking for. Winter (she/her)
Hi everyone! My name is Winter, and I’m a second-year masters student at the iSchool in the library and information science program. I’m originally from White Plains, New York, and I studied developmental psychology, education, and literature during undergrad at DePaul University in Chicago. After graduation, I’m planning on going into public children’s librarianship. During my free time, I’m an avid reader, and I crochet and dance. I also speak conversational Mandarin. I’m looking forward to working with you!

 

 

 

Rylyn
Hello hello! My name is Rylyn, and I am a graduate student at the iSchool where I study Library and Information Science. Before coming to Illinois, I got a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Carleton College so, not surprisingly, I like to go to museums in my free time! I also enjoy reading, coloring, and yoga. Elizabeth
Elizabeth recently graduated from Knox College with their undergraduate degree in Creative Writing, also earning double minors in History and Philosophy. They are a graduate assistant with the Teaching, Learning, and Academic Support (TLAS) team. Elizabeth’s literary interests include the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins, Diane Seuss, and Emily Dickinson. Their undergraduate history research primarily focused on the intersection of American neoliberalism, feminism, and how rapid economic growth affects female identity. They served as a co-editor-in-chief and poetry editor of Knox College’s collaborative literary magazine Cellar Door, and are several times published in Knox’s nationally recognized literary magazine CatchElizabeth is passionate about writing and helping students refine their work and research methodologies to allow them to reach their academic goals.

 
 

Kara
Hi everybody, I’m Kara! I am a graduate student currently working towards a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. Before coming to UIUC, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in English at ISU up in Bloomington IL. When I’m not at the library, I enjoy candy making, journaling, and reading. Hello! My name is Laura, and I’m a graduate student with the Library and Information Science program here at the University. I’m originally from Oregon, and have a bachelor’s degree in geology and an additional certificate in marine and coastal science from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. Along with loving hiking around to look at rocks and beaches, I also love to knit and cook. I’m looking forward to researching with you!
