This funded project: (1) completed the conversion of our project data to TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) standards; (2) transcribed and encoded 28 new letters (all held at the Morgan Library, New York), using the new TEI schema; (3) monitored and expanded our crowdsourced translation platform to engage a wider student and popular audience; and (4) updated and developed biographical notices for 55 important correspondents, building on an existing Kolb-Proust Archive database (7,300 names inventoried) to provide more detailed information about frequently mentioned people, including short biographies and links to relevant digital resources.
