This project developed a framework within which interested people from the archives, library, museum, digital preservation, and PDF communities collaborated to develop the functional specifications for a process to convert email messages to PDF format. This document that resulted from working group efforts established requirements and outlines a digital format for capturing and representing email to enable users to exchange and view archived email packages independent of the environment in which they were created or the environment in which they are used.
