The University of Illinois Library was awarded funding for 7 open educational textbooks authored by University of Illinois professors. The textbooks range in topic from Epidemiology and Community Nutrition to the Analysis of Data and Renewable Energy. The textbooks span different departments ranging from Engineering to Applied Health Sciences as well as Social Work and Computer Science. These textbooks will impact approximately 1,995 students annually and save those students about $183,421.80 per year in textbook costs. The University Library has a robust history of producing Open Educational Textbooks and publishing them through our publishing press IOPN. The University Library expects that the high quality textbooks produced using funding from this grant will be used across the state, nation, and world.
