Among the world’s strongest collections devoted to Greco-Roman Antiquity and its enduring cultural influence, the Classics Library Collection was founded in 1910, and primarily supports the University of Illinois Department of the Classics, among the largest programs of its kind in the United States. We also serve allied programs, including Medieval Studies. The collection encompasses over 100,000 volumes, 400 journals, and all of the major databases. Our reading room in 225 Main Library contains nearly half of our total print holdings, which are particularly rich in Latin and Greek literature, ancient history, and patristics.
Please direct all comments or requests for information to the Librarian for Classical Studies, Dr. David Morris (firstname.lastname@example.org).
