Historical Note: Theodore Leavitt was a print collector and the manager of the Bar Harbor, Maine, Playhouse. It is believed that he sold his collection of theatrical prints to A&B Booksellers in New York, and it is this collection that was later purchased by the University of Illinois in 1953.
