Ralph G. Lindstrom, born in Illinois in 1891, was a prominent attorney in Los Angeles. A frequent contributor to the Christian Science Monitor, he was also a frequent speaker on Lincoln topics. President of the Lincoln Fellowship of Southern California and of the Lincoln Sesquicentennial Association of California, he wrote Lincoln Finds God (1958).
This collection includes typescripts of a number of papers that Lindstrom delivered, mostly on Lincoln. It also includes a portfolio of reviews of Lincoln Finds God, pictures of Lindstrom's appearance on CBS when the book was published, and excerpts of letters which he received when the book was serialized in the Christian Science Monitor. Lindstrom's book went through many drafts between 1952 and 1961, much of which was set aside. Lindstrom planned to revise this material for another book, "Lincoln and 'Man's Vast Future,'" a sample of which is retained in this collection.
The collection was acquired from Chuck Hand of Paris, Ill.
