The University of Illinois, through its participation in the BTAA<\/a> consortium,\u00a0has secured an open access publishing agreement with Wiley for calendar years 2026 and 2027.<\/p>\n Through December 31, 2027, under this new contract, Illinois and its students, faculty, and staff will enjoy:<\/p>\n Important Changes to the Publishing Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n The agreement maintains the BTAA\u2019s \u201cno fees, no caps, no limits\u201d approach for Wiley hybrid OA <\/strong>journal articles accepted in 2026 and 2027, meaning there is no institutional cap on the number of eligible open access articles.<\/p>\n The notable change for authors<\/strong> is that the new contract will limit free APC publishing in Wiley gold OA<\/strong> journals. Articles submitted to gold OA<\/strong> journals by August 31, 2026, are guaranteed to be covered under the central BTAA contract.
