The Scholarly Commons is a technology enriched space for faculty, researchers, and graduate students to pursue research and receive expert copyright, data, digital humanities, digitization, scholarly communications, and usability consultation services. The Technology Prototyping Service creates efficiencies in library operations across units and helps libraries roll out new services through design of middleware, APIs and lightweight web-services. The Media Commons is a collaborative campus effort that provides students and faculty opportunities to experiment with emerging technologies, with expanded opportunities to learn of best practices in educational technology.

Data Center Shared Services is a campus initiative to consolidate campus server rooms and data centers into high-quality shared data center facilities. Through use of shared data centers, the campus can provide higher-quality facilities while reducing overall costs. The publish.illinois.edu service is a project within the Web@Illinois effort at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our web publishing efforts. The Illinois Digital Environment for Access to Learning and Scholarship (IDEALS) is the digital repository for research and scholarship including published and unpublished papers, datasets, video and audio produced at the University of Illinois.

National & Regional

The Hathi Trust Digital Library preserves and provides access to digitized book and journal content from the partner library collections. It aims to build a comprehensive archive of published literature from around the world and develop shared strategies for managing digital and print holdings in a collaborative way.

 

The Digital Preservation Network is a federation that fills an important role across the long-term preservation ecosystem. It provides a framework to extend and rationalize preservation investments, retool publication workflows for a digital world, and efficiently plan campus-based cyber infrastructure.

 

The DuraSpace provides leadership and innovation in open source technologies for global communities who manage, preserve, and provide access to digital content. It puts together global, strategic collaborations to sustain DSpace, Fedora and DuraCloud.

The Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI) consists of 145 Illinois academic libraries and provides the I-Share integrated library system; E-resources licensing and subsidized core resources. The Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) is a consortium of the Big Ten member universities plus the University of Chicago, Pennsylvania State University, University of Maryland and Rutgers University. The National Center for Professional & Research Ethics (NCPRE) brings together information on best practices in research, academia and business in an online portal and center.
